Daily Devotional #1,829

There was a couple who invited their pastor to dinner one night and had a wonderful time. But when they were  cleaning up, they discovered that one of their good spoons was missing. They looked everywhere and the wife  decided that the pastor had taken it. The husband said that it wasn’t important, but the wife just couldn’t let it  go. Months passed by and the husband thought that having the pastor over again might help his wife get over  her resentment. She agreed to try and so the pastor came over for dinner again. The wife tried but she just  couldn’t help herself. She finally burst out “You know Pastor, the last time you were here, months ago, you
took one of our good spoons and never returned it to us!” The pastor listened quietly and with a calm voice said  “I didn’t take your good spoon. I left it between the pages of your Bible.” How long has it been since you’ve  opened up that Bible? I hope that you would have found that spoon the very next day. It is a key part of your  walk with Christ to spend time in God’s Word, the Bible. We learn from it what God has done, what people  have done and through it God speaks to our hearts each day. So, open it up and if you don’t know where to  start, just go to the Gospel of John and start reading there. And don’t stop! And who knows what else you  might find has been hiding there! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Luke 11:28 GNB But Jesus answered, "Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!"
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
