Daily Devotional #1,804

There is an old story about Bobby Fischer, who was a world chess champion. His mom had apparently taken  him to an art museum when he was a boy and there, he found a painting of a man hunched over a chessboard.  The man looked weary and wore the face of defeat. And that went with the title of the painting, it was called “Checkmate”. Mom wandered off to look at other paintings but young Bobby, who was already an  accomplished chess player couldn’t take his eyes off the scene in front of him. Finally, his mom came and told  Bobby they had to go, but he turned and said, “But Mom, he still has one more move!” The young chess master  could see what others could not…that the game was not over…there was a way to win! How often do we feel  like the man in the picture…we find ourselves seeing no other move in life. Hopes and dreams are now beyond  our reach…the future has been closed to the possibility of something fresh and new and alive. What we can’t  see is that God is looking at the picture of us and he is whispering to our hearts… “I am about to do something  new…even now it is coming. Can’t you see it? I am going to make a way for you!” Never forget that you  cannot see what God can see. What you cannot do, God can do. What you can only dream, God has already  put into motion. When you hit that wall and like the man in the picture, you cannot see any other option for  you…remember God is telling you…there is one more move…and it is mine. Don’t give up. Keep trusting me.  Our God is the God who snatches victory out of what we thought were the jaws of defeat. Hang in there,  remember you are the child of the God for whom all things are possible! Here’s our Bible verse for today…

Isaiah 43:19 BSB Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I  will make a way…
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
