A lady shared the story of something that happened on what would be probably the hardest day of her life. Her two year old daughter had died suddenly and after the burial service she and her husband were riding in the back seat of her parent’s car. A truck came up behind them and began to crowd them, showing his anger that they were not going faster. He found a spot where he could race around them and roared by their car and down the road. All of them in the car watched this and the mother said, “I wonder if he would have been so angry with us if he knew where we had just been.” And this mom said, “You need to be kind to the people around you…you don’t know where they are driving from, or driving to.” She’s right, we don’t know what people’s story is by just watching their actions. As followers of this Jesus of the Bible we are told that we prove our life in Christ by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. Let God slow down your reactions to people because we usually don’t know their story. And especially in this Christmas season, do your best to show those around you the love and kindness of Jesus that you have experienced. And who knows, maybe you’ll get a chance to hear their story. And then you can share with them the hope that you have found in this Jesus of Christmas. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
2 Corinthians 6:6 NLT We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.
Remember I’m praying for you!
