An author wrote that one of the things that holds men and women back and keeps them from being happy is looking to the past and seeing what could have been and was not. Our history is important, but real life is here and now and as followers of this Jesus of the Bible we look towards the future that he has for us. The past is history, and we cannot change it. We can learn from it, but it is over. We are told in the Bible to not worry about tomorrow, that it is in God's hands. The good news is that God tells us that he has plans for us that are for good and not for disaster. His plans are there to give you a future and a hope. So, our focus is our life today. The Apostle Paul wrote that he was forgetting the past and was looking forward to the future. But that the task for each day was to press on...to continue to reach to the end of the race that God has placed him. So don't be bound by your past but use this day to serve God and the people he will put in your path. This day will be over at midnight, and it will never come again. But you have the time and the opportunity to make your life count as you run with this God who loves you so much. Remember, the past is left to the grace of God and the future to His care. Only the present is in our hands. Live today loving God with all your heart. Here's our Bible verse for today...
Philippians 3:13-14 NLT No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, (14) I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Remember I'm praying for you!
