Kids have so many opportunities and options today! A lot of those revolve around some kind of sports. It is the dream of so many youngsters that they might grow up to become professional athletes. The opportunity to keep playing a sport that they love, become famous and of course make a wonderful living is something that so many kids fantasize about. I ran across a statistic that claimed that a youngster has a .0296 % chance of becoming a professional athlete. With all that we give to sports and so many other activities for kids…that is a lousy return! But the person who presented that percentage did give one other one that I know is true. They said that there is 100% chance that every child will someday stand before this God of the Bible. When I first came to the town I live in now, they did not allow sporting events on Wednesday nights because that was the night that the churches would do activities and learning opportunities for kids and families. Within just a matter of years, not only did the city renege on that commitment, but they also started holding sporting events for kids on Sunday mornings! Our kids are almost helpless in our society today when it comes to learning about, receiving and living for this Jesus of the Bible. But it isn’t society’s job to instruct and train kids in the things that pertain to the God of the Bible. It belongs to us parents and grandparents and others who love those kids. 100% of the kids that you will see today will one day stand before the Lord to give account for their lives…to confess that Jesus is Lord or to silently go into that eternal night. I love all the opportunities that kids have, but make sure that they don’t miss out on the most important one with the most important person…Jesus Christ. Make him a priority for you and make him a priority for your kids’ lives as well. Start by bringing them to church and youth activities for a start. Give your kids a fighting chance to receive this eternal life that Jesus’ death brings to anyone who wants it.

Here’s our Bible verse for today…

2 Timothy 3:13-15 NLT But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. (14) But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. (15) You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Remember I’m praying for you!
