My story with this Jesus really began a long time ago. I grew up in the church and went to worship and Sunday
School and even Vacation Bible School. And I agreed with all the stuff that they taught, but I never fell in love
with this Jesus of the Bible. It wasn’t until I had finished my first year in college that I had an opportunity to do
something that I’d never done before. I went with a group from my church to a reservation in Arizona to help
lead their Vacation Bible School and there I met a man who God used to really introduce me to the person of
Jesus Christ. He was the right guy, at the right time and at the right place to open my heart. I just spent a week
with this man, his name was Thomas, but he was so genuinely committed and in love with this Jesus that I was
drawn to him. I had gone to church all those years, but I realized that he knew something or experienced
something that I hadn’t. I watched him, listened to him for just that one week, but at the end of that time I went
out by myself and asked God to do in me what he had done in Thomas. And what he did was allow me to begin
the journey of knowing the one true God and Jesus Christ whom he had sent. That’s a lesson for every follower
of this Jesus of the Bible. You just never know who God will have you influence or when or even how! But use
you he will. Remember there is someone out there who is hungering for what you carry in your heart and all
they need is to be able to see it and hear it and experience it from you. So live well for this Jesus you claim as
Lord and Savior, because someone is watching and waiting for God’s Holy Spirit to touch them and draw them
into his Kingdom forever. And he will use you to be the conduit of his love and kindness and truth.
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Peter 3:15-16 NLT Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. (16) But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
Remember I’m praying for you,
PJ
