Daily Devotional #1,462

I had a, well…interesting day yesterday. But one of the fun things that I did was to go In-N-Out and get one of their great hamburgers. It is a unique business with lots of units here in California. I think they are great hamburgers because everything is fresh! I was headed out to the church but decided to stop by and grab one to eat. They are always busy, and after I ordered, I sat down to wait on a long bench that faced the serving counter. I had talked to the manager before and he started to pass by and stopped and said “Hi” and told me that he had the same Hawaiian shirt I was wearing that day. We got to talking about this restaurant and how successful it had been. And one of the things that I like that they do is to put Bible verse references on the bottom of their drink cups. I told the manager that I’d love to buy stock in In-N-Out. The manager laughed and said, “It will never happen”. He said that the family that owns the company is too committed to their workers and to their faith to sell it off. He asked me if I saw the sign outside that said that they were going to be closed this coming Sunday. He said “It doesn’t say Closed on Easter…it says Closed on Resurrection Day!" I really liked that!! This Sunday is Easter…but it really is Resurrection Day. Without this day…it all falls apart. But God did this great work. Both sin and even death are defeated on the cross on Good Friday. That was a horrific day as the most innocent person to walk on earth was executed for the sins of all of the most guilty people on earth. But Sunday was coming…and with the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, it all is proved true. So, get ready to celebrate this Sunday…and don’t be afraid to let people know that it really is Resurrection Day!

Here’s our Bible verse for today...

Acts 4:33 NLT The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.

Remember I’m praying for you…
With love, PJ
