There’s a story about a pastor who was talking to a group of kids about Jesus. He had a picture of a painting of
Jesus and said “You know, we don’t have any pictures of Jesus so we don’t really know what he looked like.”
One of the kids was looking intently at the picture and blurted out “You know pastor, it sure looks like him to
me!” Well, the pastor was right…and wrong. We don’t have any photos or any paintings or drawings of Jesus
from when he was on earth. But we do have an idea of what he looked like. Not physically, but we do know
his heart’s commitment, his love and his sacrificial life. And you know what? You can see him in the lives of
people he is transforming by his eternal power. In the letter to the Romans in the New Testament, we are told
that those who God knew would follow Jesus, their destiny would be to become like him. Someday with your
own eyes, the Bible promises that you will see him. But for right now, he can be seen in the lives of men and
women and boys and girls. We are called to follow in his steps, and when we love and live and sacrifice like
him…people will be able to see this Jesus of the Bible in you and me. And when you do that, maybe someone
will say of you…You know, they sure look like Jesus to me!
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 8:29 EMTV Because whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Remember I’m praying for you…
