He turned 95 years old yesterday…kind of. It was on February 18, 1930 that astronomer, Clyde Tombaugh  discovered the planet Pluto. Well, he was a planet that day. Pluto was hard to find because it is 3.9 billion miles  from the sun. Light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach Earth. That same light takes more than 5 hours to  reach Pluto. For 66 years Pluto had been considered the ninth planet in our solar system But in 2006…its status changed. It was reclassified as a dwarf planet and is not a planet to us anymore. Pluto didn’t do anything  wrong…we just changed our minds. We do that a lot. We go one way or believe one way and then we decide  that we will go or believe something else. God isn’t like that. In the Bible, the book of James says that  “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the  heavens. He never changes…” God has made some wonderful promises about his love for us, forgiveness for  anyone who wants it and a future that goes beyond this life. God is true to his word. He tells us that in the  Bible and he demonstrates that in the lives of those who love him. God can be trusted, his character that is  revealed in the Bible and in his creation persuades us of that. So put your trust in him. He says he is there  always…you just need to come to him in faith and he will make himself known to you and give you life today  and life eternal. Remember that he is always just a prayer away…so take some time to talk with him today.  And Happy Birthday to Pluto…we’ll always think of you as our fellow planet…no matter what they decide!  Here’s our Bible verse for today…
James 1:16-18 NLT So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. (17) Whatever is good and perfect is a  gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or  casts a shifting shadow. (18) He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all  creation, became his prized possession.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
