I found a lost treasure. Just before Christmas I was looking for another sweatshirt and I started going through our walk-in closet and I found my old high school letter sweater that I thought I had lost. Somehow, it got stuck in with some of my wife’s clothes hanging in there. I pulled it out and thought about the last time I had worn it in high school was in June of 1969. I realized that it had been 55 years from then until now. It didn’t really seem that long and then I got an idea. What would happen if I subtracted that same 55 number from 1969? I did and I got the year 1914…the year World War I began! The same amount of time from now back to when I wore that sweater was the time from then to the first World War? How could that be? Well, time goes by fast, and you blink and a whole year goes by…you blink a couple of times…and a half a century goes by! I hear more and more people tell me that they feel like time is going by faster than ever before. So, we ought to do all the good we can, while we can! As a follower of this Jesus of the Bible, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. Whenever you have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone out there. And even more so to those who are in the family of faith. So go out there and make a positive impact on our world and make God look good. And don’t forget, you’ll blink your eyes…and decades will pass. So, let’s just do it! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Galatians 6:9-10 NLT So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. (10) Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
Remember I’m praying for you!
