Quail Lake Community Church

Daily Devotional #1,669

Chris Randall tells a story of a college professor who took a group of students to John Wesley's house in the 1940's. John Wesley was a great church leader and helped to start the Methodist church. They toured the house and saw where he wrote and where he received guests. And then he said that they were taken to Wesley's bedroom and on the side of the bed, the floor was worn in two different spots. The students were told that John Wesley prayed there on his knees for hours each night for spiritual revival in America and England. The group was led back downstairs and made their way outside the house. The professor noticed that they were one short of their group. So he headed back inside and made his way back to the bedroom. When he stepped in, all he could see was a pair of shoulders as the person kneeled in the same indentions in the floor where Wesley had prayed on his knees so many years before. And he heard the muffled voice praying over and over "Do it again Lord. Do it in me." He waited for a bit and finally went over and put his hand on the young man and quietly told him that they needed to go. The young man got up from his prayer and went out. His name was...Billy Graham. That's a prayer that God would love for every one of his children to pray to him. To ask him to bring his revival and renewal to an entire land, but to first bring it to my life. This is such a time as that. If you have the courage, pray that prayer...and open the door for God to do a great work in you and then through you.

Here's our Bible verse for today...

Rom 6:13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

Remember I'm praying for you!
With love, PJ
