I just got back from Disney’s Epcot in Florida. It really was fun and one of the things that we made sure to see was their fireworks extravaganza that they do each night. Like so much Disney stuff, they put in a lot of work and a lot of money in that wonderful display. It was nine at night when they do their stuff and clouds had been with us all day. In the dark you couldn’t tell they were still there but as soon as the fireworks went off on the ground, the clouds began to light up. Up front were the bright explosions, but behind in the heavens there was a magnificent panorama of flashing lightning throughout the clouds. It was as though we humans were showing off what we could do with the exploding rockets in the air and then God showing his power as the entire skies lit up. I really liked the fireworks, but as the huge clouds seemed to flash back and forth I thought of what the Psalmist wrote when he said “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftmanship.” It was as though God, through his creation, was revealing himself to us all who had gathered there that night. The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the church in Rome that “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20 NLT) So go and enjoy the creative ability of the folks around us, but don’t miss the wonderful creation around you every day, because the Bible says that it is a continual reminder of the creator who made it all...including you. And it is you who he loves the most. Here’s our Bible verse for today...
Psalms 19:1-2 NLT The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. (2) Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.
Remember I’m praying for you!
