I was reading an article where the author reminded us that one hundred years ago, the best-selling book in our
country was a book on phrenology. It said one could discover his or her personality strengths and weaknesses,
and also predict his future by feeling the lumps on the top of their head. Phrenologists were serious people who
would feel the lumps on people's skulls and tell them how to get "ahead." It sounds crazy now, but one hundred
years ago, phrenology swept the nation. We are continually confronted with everything called science to
philosophy that declares itself the key to real understanding of our culture and ourselves. It has happened over
and over and those are the books you find unbought now in the Dollar Store racks. The Bible declares itself
true and as the word of God to the people of earth. A lot of folks have done their best to defame it and “expose
it” as fraudulent. And all those people eventually are taken from this planet. But the Bible…the Word of God,
still remains. Remember that people are here today and gone tomorrow, ideas are marveled at and then laughed
at, but the Word of the Lord…it says that it remains forever. So, when you are looking for truth, something to
help you make sense of the human condition, something that will give you hope for today and for
tomorrow…open up that Bible and let God speak to your heart from its pages. And in it you will find why they
call it “Good News”. Crack that book open today!
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Peter 1:24-25 NLT As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. (25) But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.
Remember I’m praying for you,
