Corrie Ten Boom and her family were committed Christians who hid Dutch Jews in their house in Haarlem, Holland during World War II. They saved a number of individuals and families until they were betrayed by a neighbor to the Nazis. Corrie survived the war, and later she recounted a conversation she had with her father. She wanted to know why God seemed to delay doing certain things in life. Her father said “Corrie, when we are waiting on the platform ready to board the train for a trip, when do I give you your ticket?” And Corrie answered, “You give it to me just before we step on the train.” And her father said, “You are right, because you don’t need that ticket until it is time to step on the train.” So often we struggle with why God doesn’t answer a prayer or make something happen when we think we should have it. We have to remember that God will bring us what he wants us to have at just the right time. That doesn’t mean that we should stop praying nor should we grow weary in our faithfulness. Our job is to trust in the God who has already proved his love to us on the cross. God is working out not just the good for your life but the best for you and for his eternal kingdom that you will be a part of. So, keep praying, stay faithful and remember that God is never late…but he is never early either. He acts and answers at just the right time. Trust him for your needs and your dreams today…and tomorrow.
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. (7) Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
