Have you heard the saying… “They talk the talk…but they don’t walk the walk”? We can agree with the whole
Bible and even share it with others. But people need to see us live what we claim we believe. There is a great
story about a missionary to Burma, Adoniram Judson. Judson went to the King of Burma to ask him if he might
have permission to go to a certain city to preach. The King, a pagan, but quite an intelligent man responded,
"I'm willing for a dozen preachers to go but not you, not with those hands. My people are not such fools as to
take notice of your preaching, but they will note those calloused, work scarred hands." We have to remember
that the things we do and how we live are a part of the message that we deliver. So, we are called to let our faith
touch our world, to make a difference in the lives of those around us. That’s why just knowing the truth isn’t
enough…we need to love the truth giver. And he alone will give us a new heart. A heart for God, but a heart
for the people who walk this journey of life with us who don’t know that God has set in motion this great rescue
plan…that includes them. Then you don’t just repeat this message of salvation…but you physically become a
part of it. So, believe the truth, share the truth and ask God to let you fall in love with the truth giver…that you
too may love those for whom he has sacrificed so much for.
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
James 2:14-17 NLT What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? (15) Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, (16) and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? (17) So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
Remember I’m praying for you…
