Daily Devotional #1,451

I was looking on Amazon the other night for a new printer and I couldn’t believe how many choices there were. I read the reviews of so many of them and there were ones that sounded great, but then I would read other reviews and find out all the complaints that people had about them. I started thinking…which one is the best? And I sat back and wondered if that’s how some people feel about a relationship with the God of creation. I read somewhere that there might be as many as 4,200 different religions on earth. I imagined people looking through all these different beliefs and trying to figure out which one is best or better yet…true. There are a lot of things to put your belief in, including yourself. But the thing about believing in this Jesus is that the Bible claims that he is the only who one died for the sins of the whole world. And it claims that he is the only one who was raised from the dead on Easter morning. A popular thought in our culture is that all beliefs are really pretty much the same and that there are so many roads to God. That idea is destroyed by the Bible when it tells us what Jesus said about himself. Jesus said…I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. We then are left with three choices about this Jesus. First, that he was a deranged individual who had delusions of grandeur. Second, he was an evil person who purposely went on a mission to lie to the whole world. Or lastly, he is who he said he is. He is the Lord of glory, who was God who became flesh and dwelt among us and then chose to go to the cross to pay with his life for the sins of every human who journeyed on earth. And then he rose from the dead and now the promise is that he will return and to wrap up this human experience on earth and judge the living and the dead. And that no matter what you decided to believe on this earth… that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. That’s the one I’m choosing…you choose him too!

Here’s our Bible verse for today…

John 14:6 NLT Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

Remember I’m praying for you…
With love, PJ
