Well, the 49ers lost in a heartbreaker last night. I wore my jersey to church and then afterwards made a last run
to Walmart for stuff to fuel our gang through the big game. When I went in there I noticed that there were a
number of folks who were wearing 49er jersey’s, T-shirts and sweatshirts. As we passed each other in the store,
there would be a mutual greeting of “Go Niners”! We knew we were all on the same side by the stuff we were
wearing. I got to thinking about that. The followers of Jesus have a way that others can tell that we are on “the
same team” too. Jesus said that people will recognize that we are his disciples by the love they see us having
for each other. That is our marker that lets others know we belong to this Jesus of the Bible. So, like showing
your commitment for your favorite sports team, show your commitment to Jesus, who is the Christ, by first
loving your fellow followers of him. And then let that love flow over into your relationships with all the folks
who share your world with you. Your love will let folks know whose eternal team you are on!
Here’s our Bible verse for today…
John 13:35 MSG "This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other."
Remember I’m praying for you…
